A man died from a fallen tree when the storm "Aruen" hit parts of the United Kingdom with strong winds, rain and snow, Sky News reports.
The man died after a falling tree hit his car in Northern Ireland, while in Scotland, police warned people not to travel to areas for which a red code has been declared.
Wind gusts of up to 150 miles per hour are expected in some areas, and snowfall is possible as temperatures drop.
Train and ferry services were also canceled due to worsening weather.
A local rail operator said Friday night that its trains would not run outside Newcastle and advised customers not to travel until Monday.                                                                            Scottish Railways also canceled services between Aberdeen, Perth and Inverness on Friday and there were disruptions on other lines.
The Meteorological Service has issued a high-level wind warning on the east coast of Scotland and the North East of England - fearing damage to buildings and the risk of flying debris.
Some 25,000 homes in Scotland have been left without electricity, and power outages have also been reported in the United Kingdom in the North East of England; as well as in Northern Ireland.                                                                            Ferries between Northern Ireland and Scotland were canceled on Friday. Temperatures are expected to drop with the storm, with the forecaster warning that the north-east of England, the north-west of England, Yorkshire, the West     Midlands and the East Midlands will have cold weather from Friday to Monday.
The government's disaster agency advises people to check on their older neighbors and relatives, especially those who live alone or have a serious illness.
