The proposal to hold a NATO-Russia Council meeting remains in force


 NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that the Alliance does not intend to reduce its military presence in the region near Russia's borders and stressed that the proposal to hold a NATO-Russia Council meeting remains in force, TACC reports. The Norwegian made a statement during a visit to Vilnius.

"We are striving for dialogue. The proposal made by the Alliance 18 months ago to hold a Russia-NATO Council meeting remains in force. We are waiting for Russia's response, "the agency quoted Stoltenberg as saying.                    At the same time, he stressed that NATO does not intend to reduce its military presence in the region near the borders of the Russian Federation.
