Mechanisms for demarcating and delimiting the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be established by the end of the year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after a tripartite meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, TACC reports.
The Russian leader said the countries had made progress in resolving the humanitarian and economic problems of Nagorno-Karabakh and the South Caucasus (but did not reveal details), and also gave his colleagues olive twigs made of gold, symbols of peace and prosperity. The Kremlin later recalled that the olive tree was "a blessed tree in ancient, Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions."
