A very strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 was registered in Peru

 

An earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale was registered in northern Peru, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said.

The quake occurred at 5:52 local time (12:52 Bulgarian time). The epicenter was 45 km north-northwest of the city of Baranka (with a population of about 5,000 people) and 269 kilometers east of the city of Loja in Ecuador (with a population of about 117,000 people). The hearth is located at a depth of 110 km.

So far there are no data on material damage or injured people. No tsunami alert was issued.
