Anti-epidemic measures are being returned to the UK because of the new strain of COVID-19

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson announced the introduction of measures to prevent the spread of the new strain of COVID-19 "Omicron" in the country, reports the British national daily The Times, recalling that two cases of infection have already been registered on the island.                                                                    The prime minister clarified that the restrictions, which include strict travel rules, will be reviewed in three weeks, at the beginning of the students' vacations. At a news conference in Downing Street, Johnson expressed confidence that this year's holidays would be "significantly better than last Christmas" when families were barred from reuniting. For his part, Health Minister Sajid Javid assured that people will have a "great Christmas" and should plan to spend it as usual.                                                                                On Tuesday, England must rejoin Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in requiring masks to be worn in shops and on public transport, the editorial added.
