Russia's energy giant Gazprom has delivered a record amount of natural gas to China in one day, December 23, Kommersant reported, citing data from the company.
The statement was made against the backdrop of the energy crisis in Europe, which a number of European Union politicians blame on the Russian company, the editorial office said.
"A historic record for daily gas supplies from Russia to China was set on December 23," the company said in a statement posted on the company's official website.
The press service of Gazprom clarified that gas supplies to European consumers are made "in accordance with the requests and in full in accordance with current contractual obligations." The company noted that the volume of gas in European storage as of December 24 amounted to 21.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas less than last year, and 43.1% of the volume of gas injected this year were used.
