Moscow and Washington will discuss the Ukrainian issue before the Russia-NATO meeting

Representatives of the United States and Russia will meet on January 10 to discuss the crisis in Ukraine, writes Die Welt. The chairman of the White House National Security Council said: "When we get together, Russia will be able to share its doubts at the table, and we will also share our doubts about Russia's actions."

At the same time, no decisions for Ukraine will be made without the participation of Ukraine itself, he stressed. A meeting between Russia and NATO will take place two days later. Wider talks with Russia, the United States and a number of European countries are scheduled for January 13.

The US government fears that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is considering an invasion of the former Soviet republic. Russia itself denies the existence of such plans. If that happens, the United States will quickly impose large-scale sanctions.

On Monday, US President Joe Biden signed a budget law that would provide $ 300 million to support Ukraine's armed forces and another $ 1 billion to strengthen European defense.
