Putin spoke of Russia's response to NATO's eastward expansion


 

 If NATO continues to expand eastward, then Russia's response could be very different, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, everything depends on the proposals of Russian military experts, the Russian newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets quoted him as saying.

On Russia 1, Putin noted that Moscow had offered strategic security guarantees to the United States and NATO in order to achieve a "result of diplomatic talks." "to be legally guaranteed, within the framework of the documents we have proposed".
 Earlier, Russian President Dmitry Peskov's spokesman commented on statements by White House spokesman Jen Psaki about talks between Moscow and Washington on organizing the security system. According to him, Putin has already spoken "about our readiness to start negotiations as soon as possible."

Earlier, Psaki said talks would take place in January, but details have not yet been agreed. She also noted that the United States will agree with some of Russia's proposals, but is not ready to give in to Russia's demands on NATO.
