Kovachevski received a mandate to form the new government of northern Macedonia

 


 

 The President of Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, handed over a mandate to form a government to the newly elected leader of the ruling SDSM, Dimitar Kovachevski, according to the Macedonian news agency Makfax.

"According to Article 84, paragraph 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia and the proposal submitted by SDSM and supported by political parties in the ruling coalition, which has a majority, I hand over a mandate to Mr. Dimitar Kovachevski to form a new government," the agency quoted. Pendarovski's words.

 In turn, Kovachevski said that the formation of a new team, which must meet the serious challenges that await the country in the new year, begins today.

"The new government will have a clear goal - to ensure security, a better life and a bright future for our citizens. "My personal commitment is to restore citizens' trust in politics and institutions," Kovachevski said.

He stressed the need for effective, fair and accountable governance, such as that of the team he will form as a candidate for prime minister of Macedonia.
