From January 1st, 850 euros will be paid for the second and third child in Serbia

 


 The Serbian parliament has passed an amendment to the law on support for families with children, which provides for the payment of a one-time allowance for the birth of a second and third child in the amount of 100,000 dinars (about 850 euros), Novosti reported.

 According to the newspaper from January 1, 2022, all families in which a second or third child is born will receive 100 thousand dinars. Previously, the law provided for a one-time payment only for the birth of the first child. Speaking at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on labor and social affairs, Minister of Family and Demography Ratko Dmitrovic said that "the assessment of the budget capacity has concluded that there is money to implement such a decision." The amendment applies to children born after 1 January 2022.

 Earlier, the Serbian government passed a law to increase the payment for the birth of the first child from 100,000 dinars to 300,000 dinars (2,500 euros). This law also enters into force on January 1.

In addition, President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the nation, saying that the total amount of family payments for the first child from both the state and the municipalities would be around 4,000 euros. In addition, according to the existing law, the second child in Serbia is paid 10,000 dinars (85 euros) per month for a period of two years, the third child - 12,000 dinars (102 euros) for a period of 10 years, and the fourth child - 18 thousand dinars (153 euros) for a period of 10 years.
