We will restore citizens' trust in politics and institutions

Dimitar Kovachevski, who received a mandate earlier in the day to form a new government in Skopje, assured that he would work to restore citizens' trust in politics and institutions, according to the online edition of the Macedonian newspaper Sloboden Pechat.

"This requires effective, honest and responsible management, which will be a feature of the team that I will form as prime minister. My personal commitment is to restore citizens' trust in politics and institutions. We must all work together for independent institutions and a just society if we want those we serve to trust us, "Kovachevski said.

"As of today, I am starting to form a new team of people who must meet the serious challenges that await us from the beginning of next year. The new government will have a clear goal - to provide security, a better life and a bright future for our citizens. My personal commitment is to restore citizens' trust in politics and institutions, "said SDSM leader and prime minister-designate Dimitar Kovachevski after President Stevo Pendarovski handed him the mandate to form a new government.

"It is a great honor and responsibility for me - the mandate given by President Pendarovski to form a new government. We live in turbulent times, times of crisis and uncertainty. We are facing problems that hinder the country's progress and the achievement of strategic goals. "Such times require stable, responsible and courageous people who take responsibility, stand up and overcome all obstacles in order to protect and care for the citizens," Kovachevski stressed.

He added that the new government will focus on the country's economic development and financial support for families. Kovachevski was adamant that political divisions and endless disputes, which cause great damage to the development and implementation of projects and reforms needed for a better life for all, should not be allowed. The candidate for prime minister has called for bridging differences and quickly uniting in setting priorities to move the country forward quickly.

The nominee for prime minister has already announced plans to submit the proposed cabinet on January 11th, after which a cabinet vote should be scheduled. The new government is reportedly due to be elected by January 18th.
