Attacks on mosques in Cyprus will not go unanswered

 


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that attacks on mosques in Cyprus "will not go unanswered". Mediterranean island.

The Turkish pro-government newspaper Daily Sabah reported that at least one suspect was detained after trying to burn down the Grand Mosque in Larnaca on December 2nd. No one was injured in the accident.

"Unfortunately, there was (experience) against our mosques in the southern part of the [Republic] of Cyprus. Of course, this operation in southern Cyprus will not go unanswered, "Erdogan told reporters before leaving for Qatar for a two-day visit.

 "This is what we are saying to Southern Cyprus: do not carry out such acts of sabotage against our temples. The price you will have to pay for such acts of sabotage will be heavy, "the Turkish leader warned.
