From December 9 to 17, US Secretary of State Anthony Blink will pay visits to Britain, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand from December 9 to 17, Reuters reports, citing a statement from the Foreign Ministry in Washington.
At the G-7 meeting in Liverpool on December 10-12, Blinken will speak with members of the countries of the format and invited guests from Australia, India, the Republic of Korea and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Security issues, including the build-up of Russian forces on the Ukrainian border, vaccines against COVID-19, global infrastructure and growth in the Indo-Pacific region, will be on the agenda, the US State Department said in a statement.
From there, Blinken will travel to Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand on December 13-16 to discuss regional issues, including the situation in Myanmar. He will end his trip with a bus stop in Honolulu, Hawaii, on December 17 to meet with INDOPACOM Commander Admiral John Aquilino.
