 Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a Ukrainian military intelligence agent sent to the country to commit a terrorist act. The FSB also reported the detention of two agents of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), who were collecting data on strategic sites in the country, reports TASS.

"Security officials detained an agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, sent to the territory of our country to commit a terrorist act," the FSB said in a statement.

The attack was planned to be carried out by detonating two improvised explosive devices with a total mass of 1.5 kg in TNT equivalent.

  According to the FSB, "the detainees have admitted to being recruited by Colonel Vasily Vasilyevich Kovalik, born in 1973, who was recruited by the current Ternopil SBU officer, who was tasked with gathering information on strategic sites for a $ 10,000 reward. . "

The FSB also said that short-barreled and automatic weapons, as well as personal protective equipment, were found in the detainees' car and sent for inspection.
