Minsk cannot object if Russia decides to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus

Polish President Andrzej Duda believes that the Belarusian authorities will not be able to oppose if Russia wants to deploy its missiles on the territory of Belarus. He said this on Monday at a press conference in the village of Guta, Ivano-Frankivsk region in Ukraine, after the meeting of the leaders of the Lublin Triangle (Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine), reports TACC.

Asked about the possibility of Russian nuclear weapons being deployed by Russia on Belarusian territory, the Polish leader said that "if a situation arises where part of Russia's nuclear arsenal is located in the direction of Western Europe and NATO, it would be more a clear manifestation of aggression. As an example of such "aggression", he cited the situation in the Kaliningrad region, where he said "Russia's military potential is systematically increasing and where Russian missiles are being delivered".

According to Duda, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in this situation "has little to say." "If Russia wants to deploy its missiles on the territory of Belarus, it will simply do so. The only thing that can prevent this is the decisive position of NATO and the United States," Duda said.

Earlier, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said the republic was ready to deploy nuclear weapons in the event of a NATO threat. Earlier, President Alexander Lukashenko noted that Minsk would offer Moscow to take similar measures if the North Atlantic Alliance deploys nuclear weapons in Poland.
