Mitsotakis intends to discuss energy cooperation with Putin

 

  During his visit to Sochi, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis intends to discuss with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, tourism, culture and education, as well as regional and international events. This was announced at a briefing by the official representative of the government of our southern neighbor Ioannis Oikonomou, TACC reports.

  On Wednesday, the prime minister will be in Sochi, where he will have his first meeting as prime minister with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with whom he met as leader of the main opposition New Democracy party, in Athens in 2016. will have the opportunity to discuss topics of relations between the two countries, with a focus on co-operation in the fields of energy, tourism, culture and education. They will also exchange views on regional and international events, "Oikonomou explained. 

  "Our multifaceted energy diplomacy, which we have carried out over the past 2.5 years, has significantly strengthened our country's geostrategic position and effectively contributes to the promotion of our national interests," he added.

Aide to Russian President Yuri Ushakov told reporters on December 3rd that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will visit Russia in December for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "We already have a plan for close contacts, we are waiting for the Greek prime minister in December," he said.
