More than 600,000 people will be able to watch the opening of the 2024 Olympics in Paris live

The organizers of the Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris in 2024, expect 600 thousand spectators to be able to see the opening ceremony live, reports Le Figaro.

The ceremony can be seen by up to 1 billion people, the newspaper said.

According to the newspaper, the main venue for the ceremony will be the Seine. The 600,000 spectators will be able to attend the ceremony, which will last more than three hours, the article said. Access to the upper coastal streets on both banks of the river is expected to be free. Temporary stands will be installed on the lower ones, the newspaper writes. However, ticket prices are "not yet determined".

According to Le Figaro, the ceremony will feature the most famous facilities in the city center. Athletes participating in the traditional parade will be accommodated in 160 boats that will sail on the river about 6 km from the Austerlitz Bridge to the Jena Bridge in the Eiffel Tower area. From there, about 10,000 athletes will head to Trocadero Square, where performances and the Olympic flame lighting ceremony are planned.

The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The capital of France will host the competition for the third time. Prior to that, the Games were held in Paris in 1900 and 1924.
