The EU's urban population is exposed to dangerous levels of air pollution


  The majority of Europe's population living in urban areas is exposed to dangerous levels of air pollution. This was warned by the European Environment Agency, reports EU Observer.

Over 90 percent of the urban population of the Old Continent is exposed to high levels of fine dust particles, nitrogen dioxide and ozone above those recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The European Commission has launched a review of EU air quality standards to bring them in line with WHO recommendations.
