The first six Rafale planes will arrive in Greece in January

The first batch of French Rafale aircraft will be delivered to the Greek Air Force in January in the 114th Fighter Wing in Tanagra, the electronic edition of the Greek newspaper Kathimerini writes.

The first six of the 24 French fighter jets to be acquired by the Greek Air Force will be able to meet operational needs immediately, as their pilots have already completed their training in France.

The Greek Ministry of Defense has decided that the Chief of the General Staff of the Greek Air Force, Lieutenant General George Blioumis, will attend their delivery, as the decision to acquire them was made during his tenure.

Bleumis, who has served as Chief of Staff for almost three years, is responsible for the fact that he and his staff have managed to ensure the completion of all staff training, integration and adaptation to French fighters in difficult circumstances.

The delivery of the remaining 12 Rafale aircraft, which have already been purchased, will take place over the next two years.

Meanwhile, in the next few days, procedures are expected to begin for the purchase of an additional six fighters of the same type, so that the total number of Rafale aircraft reaches a full squadron of 24 aircraft.
