The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has warned that 80% of the nearly 6,000 products sold online and subsequently tested do not comply with Community chemicals laws (also known as REACH), the EU Observer reports.
Products include both professional and consumer products such as toys, clothing and jewelry. As a result, national authorities have launched more than 5,000 enforcement procedures, asking companies to remove products from their websites or adjust their online ads to better inform consumers.
