The F-35 fighter of the British Air Force, which crashed in the Mediterranean after taking off from the aircraft carrier "Queen Elizabeth", has been found. This was announced by representatives of NATO and the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom, AFP reports.
"Operations to retrieve the British F-35 from the Mediterranean have been completed successfully," the Ministry of Defense said on the social network Twitter.
"NATO allies Italy and the United States provided support during the operation," the Alliance said in a statement.
The fighter crashed into the sea on November 17 when it took off from the aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth, returning from a mission in the Indo-Pacific region.
A video made on board and broadcast by the British media shows the plane falling into the water from the ramp at the end of the take-off deck. According to the Defense Journal, a sailor suspected of revealing the record has been arrested.
