French secret services have detained two people suspected of plotting knife attacks during the Christmas and New Year holidays, BFM TV reported.
The suspects planned to carry out attacks on public places, in particular "shopping malls, universities and crowded streets", the report said.
The TV channel specifies that two of those detained in the operation on November 29 are 23 years old.
"They were charged on December 3." A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office, the media explained.
The TV channel also notes that one of the detainees is known for his radicalization. Materials related to the terrorist group "Islamic State" were found in his home.
