US President Joe Biden, after a scheduled telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Thursday, intends to discuss an online summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday with Bucharest Nine leaders. This was announced by the press service of the White House.
"President Biden will speak with Ukrainian President Zelensky to discuss the build-up of Russian military forces on the Ukrainian border. He will then call on the leaders of the Bucharest Nine, a group of our allies on NATO's eastern flank, to brief them on his appeals to [Vladimir] Putin, to hear their views on the current security situation, and to underline the US commitment to transatlantic security, "the White House said in a statement. The Bucharest Nine includes Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, the Czech Republic and Estonia.
