Tensions and fears of renewed violence have gripped Libya after Friday's presidential election was postponed by at least a month, according to The Times.
The Supreme National Electoral Commission's decision came Wednesday after a parliamentary commission tasked with overseeing the election process said it was "impossible" to hold the first round of elections as planned.
There has been widespread controversy over the legitimacy of the election and the legitimacy of the candidates, including Commander-in-Chief Marshal Khalifa Haftar and Colonel Gaddafi's son, who previously besieged Tripoli.
Prior to the announcement, armed rebels in Tripoli blocked key roads and forced schools and universities to close.
