The exercises will start today at the Crimean military training ground Opuk. The exercises at the Raevski test site near Novorossiysk will begin on December 24. The airborne units will work out techniques for conducting short-range combat operations, as well as reconnaissance and strike operations from the Artillery Division 2 C9 "Nona".

 The exercises will be held as part of an operational meeting of the command staff of the troops under the leadership of the Airborne Forces Commander, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov. In total, more than 1,200 servicemen and more than 250 units of military and special equipment will be engaged in them.
