Tensions are rising in the Western Balkans, including Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. This was warned by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference after yesterday's meeting of the foreign ministers of the Allied countries in Riga, the macedonian electronic edition "Localno" reports.
The Norwegian noted that the ministers discussed the stability and security of the countries of the Western Balkans: "The region has come a long way since the war in the 1990s. However, we have recently seen rising tensions, including in Kosovo and BiH, "Stoltenberg said.
The NATO Secretary General noted that "foreign actors are working to undermine the region's progress".
"NATO will continue to promote stability, security and co-operation in the region. We agreed on the importance of our presence, including the KFOR mission in Kosovo, as well as our offices in Sarajevo and Belgrade, "Stoltenberg said.
