The Kremlin is hoping for contacts between Putin and Scholz on the expulsion of diplomats

The Kremlin hopes that Russian President Vladimir Putin will have contacts with new German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss the expulsion of diplomats. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov to reporters, TACC reports.

Earlier, the Russian Federation declared two diplomats at the German embassy in Moscow persona non grata in response to Berlin's decision to expel two Russian diplomats following a Supreme Court ruling in the murder of Georgian citizen Zelimkhan Khangoshvili.

"We hope that these contacts will take place," a Kremlin spokesman said when asked if the Russian president planned to discuss the situation with the German chancellor.
