The Secretary General of NATO is running for governor of the Central Bank of Norway

 


 Incumbent NATO Secretary General and former Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has become one of 22 candidates for governor of the Nordic Central Bank. This is clear information published on the official website of the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom, reports NRK. According to the list presented, the 62-year-old Stoltenberg is among more than 20 candidates for the post of head of the central bank after Eisten Olsen.

 Stoltenberg himself confirmed to NRK his intention to take the post. "In November, I was contacted by the finance department with a proposal to nominate myself for this position, and this is a job for which I am very motivated," Stoltenberg said.

At the same time, the Secretary General of NATO stressed that he will not be able to take a new position, which will be vacant on March 1, 2022 until the expiration of his term on September 30 next year.
