Tighten traffic control in Germany, raise penalties!

Since the beginning of November, drivers in the Federal Republic have been paying significantly more than before for certain violations due to the new fine catalog. The focus of the police's attention is on all those who drive too fast, park incorrectly and in particular obstruct or endanger participants in traffic on sidewalks or bicycle lanes. According to the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMVI), stricter requirements for fines and warnings are intended primarily to deter violations.

In addition to speeding offenders and parking hooligans, the new fine catalog also focuses on those who do not provide a fast emergency lane free for ambulances, emergency services and police. They are already threatened with a fine of 200 euros, two penalty points in the register of offenders in Flensburg and a one-month driving ban.

And in case of danger from a driver who violates the emergency lane by sneaking into it in order to avoid congestion, the fine is increased to 280 euros plus two points and a one-month driving ban. If property damage is caused by failure to form the lifeline, 320 euros, two points and a one-month driving ban are due.

Anyone who enters the emergency lane without a permit will also be banned from driving for one month, two points in Flensburg and a fine of 240 euros. And for this violation the fine is gradually increased to 280 euros for disability, 300 euros for threat and 320 euros for property damage.

With these already quite drastic penalties, the legislator takes into account the fact that only a working emergency corridor allows injured people to be cared for without undue delay. And for these people, every minute of delay can be life-threatening.

Drivers who recklessly park on sidewalks and bike lanes also have a significant potential for injury and are a potential hazard. The same goes for second-row parking. The latest violation now costs 55 euros instead of the previous 20. If you park your car on a sidewalk or bike path in an obstructive or dangerous way and thus force a pedestrian to use the street, you can expect a fine of up to 80 euros if caught. If there is material damage, the fine is 100 euros. In all these cases, the "icing on the cake" is another point in Flensburg. And if you use an unauthorized parking space for the disabled, the "parking ticket" increases from 35 to 55 euros.

The fast ones will also have to dig deeper into their pockets. Because in urban areas exceeding the speed limit by 16 to 20 km / h is already "charged" 70 instead of the current 35 euros. And those who drive with 16 to 20 km / h speeding outside the settlements will have to pay 60 instead of the previous 30 euros. In principle, the following principle applies: the more you exceed the speed limit, the more expensive it becomes. At the top of the scale, when measured at more than 70 km / h above the limit, 800 euros will be paid in urban areas and 700 euros outside urban areas.

In addition, the rapids, who, as before, exceed the maximum speed of 21 km / h and more, will have to expect additional penalty points in Flensburg. And according to the new fine catalog, the driving ban threatens you if you drive at a speed limit of 31 km / h in urban areas and 41 km / h outside urban areas.
