Zaev is expected to resign as prime minister within the day


 

 The Prime Minister of our southwestern neighbor, Zoran Zaev, is expected to resign today - or so he announced at a press conference in Tirana after a meeting on the Open Balkans initiative with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Serbian President Alexander Vucic. , reports the Macedonian electronic publication Kurir.

"On the last day of my service as Prime Minister of Macedonia, I have the honor of participating directly and contributing to this noble Open Balkans initiative," Zaev said after the meeting in the Albanian capital.

 In turn, the Serbian head of state thanked him for the successful co-operation in previous years.

Zaev, who took over as prime minister in June 2017, will be succeeded by the new SDSM leader, Dimitar Kovachevski.
