A 48-hour strike on all categories of ships, including ferries, begins in Greece on Friday

The Greek Seafarers' Union, the All-Greek Federation of Seafarers (PNO), announced a 48-hour strike on Thursday for all categories of ships, starting on Friday, according to the online edition of the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.

The PNO insists on an increase in wages in the collective agreements for 2020-2021 and to solve problems related to social security, pensions, education, unemployment, undeclared work and many others.

The union accuses employers of "isolating" the union and refusing to change its "negative position" or offer real increases in seafarers' wages.

The strike will start at 00:01 (local time coincides with the Bulgarian time) on Friday and will end at 23:59 on Saturday (December 11).
