Kosovo police have arrested 10 people in an operation in Strabce

Members of Kosovo's special unit, ROSU, conducted a large-scale operation in Strabce in the southern part of the country, which has a predominantly Serb population. According to the local prosecutor's office, this is the first phase of an investigation into abuse of office, corruption and bribery. Ten people, including former municipal officials, were arrested after searching several buildings and premises, Macedonian TV Thelma reported.

The detainees are suspected of committing crimes such as receiving and giving bribes, as well as abuse of office and power, the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

The Kosovo daily Koha Ditore reports corruption in the construction of sites in Brezovica.

The director of the Kosovo government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said "special forces armed to the teeth" had arrested more Serbs and said it was another attempt by Prime Minister Albun Kurti to intimidate the Serbian people.
