Police in Hungary are searching for a dangerous animal in the area of the town of Kiskunhalas, near the border with Serbia, the Belgrade-based Telegraf reported, saying the escaped animal was probably a black panther.
The town is located only about 40 km from Subotica, the editorial office explains.
An animal that was in captivity is wanted, presumably a black panther, police said.
The search operation was launched after the appearance of images with the panther, which turned out to be authentic. Experts warn that this is a dangerous animal that feeds on cats, dogs and small livestock, that it is easy to hide and unpredictable.
