Putin pointed out to Johnson the facts proving the aggravation of the situation in Donbass from Kiev

Russian President Vladimir Putin has drawn the attention of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to Kiev's policy of violating the Minsk agreements, exacerbating the situation in Donbass and discriminating against the Russian-speaking population. This was announced on Monday by the press service of the Russian president after a telephone conversation between the leaders of the two countries, quoted by TACC.

The Kremlin noted that in response to Johnson's concerns about alleged large-scale movements of Russian troops near Ukraine's borders, "Putin has detailed his principled assessments of the current situation around Ukraine."

"Specific examples are given of Kiev's destructive line of conduct in violation of the Minsk agreements, which are the indisputable basis for resolving the internal Ukrainian crisis. It was also stated that the Ukrainian authorities are deliberately exacerbating the situation on the line of contact, using heavy weapons and attacking with drones banned by the Minsk package of measures in the conflict zone. Attention is also paid to the policy of discrimination against the Russian-speaking population pursued by Ukraine, "the statement said.

In addition, the Russian president has stated the need to start negotiations to draw up agreements that would exclude any NATO advance (east).

As noted by the Kremlin, the active "absorption" of Ukrainian territory by NATO countries poses a direct threat to Russia's security. "With this in mind, Vladimir Putin said the need to start negotiations immediately in order to draw up clear international legal agreements, excluding any further advance of NATO to the east and the deployment of weapons that threaten Russia in neighboring countries, especially Ukraine. The Russian side will present drafts of the relevant documents, "the statement said.

In a telephone conversation with Putin, Johnson noted Russia's contribution to the work of the Glasgow climate conference. "Satisfaction was expressed with the outcome of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Glasgow under the presidency of the United Kingdom," the statement said.

In addition, Putin and Johnson have paid close attention to the situation in Ukraine. It is noted that the leaders agreed to continue discussing the issues raised through various channels.

This is the second telephone conversation between Putin and Johnson in the last two months, the previous conversation took place on October 25, TASS reminds.
