The Turkish currency collapsed to a record 15.21 pounds per dollar

 


 Turkey's national currency broke its record again on Thursday, depreciating against the dollar to 15.21 pounds per unit of US currency, TASS reported.

At the same time, the Turkish currency has devalued twice since the beginning of the year, making it one of the biggest declines in the value of the national currency in recent years. In January, the dollar sold for 7.3 pounds.

The pound began trading on Thursday at 14.85 for 1 dollar, which began to fall sharply in the morning. The loss in value for Thursday is 2.7%. The pound also falls against other currencies.
