Turkey determined to support Bosnia and Herzegovina's sovereignty and territorial integrity

Turkey is determined to strongly support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Turkish Foreign Ministry was quoted as saying by the Turkish-language daily Sabah.

In a statement on recent decisions taken by the Republika Srpska National Assembly, one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's two entities, the ministry said Turkey has always been at the forefront of efforts to maintain peace and promote prosperity in the Balkans, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We share the concerns about the decisions taken at the special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska on December 10, 2021, like all friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We believe that the decisions taken in the Assembly of the Autonomous Community are detrimental to the constitutional and legal framework and therefore detrimental to the peaceful and prosperous future that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina deserve. It is also a challenge to the peace and stability of the Balkans and the whole of Europe, "it said.

Adding that Turkey will continue to seek, together with the international community, Bosnia and Herzegovina to return to its path of economic development as soon as possible, the statement said: "With this understanding, we call on those who will take responsibility for harm to peace and prosperity, respect the constitutional and legal framework and resort to dialogue instead of unilateral action.
