Turkey is closely monitoring the military mobilization of US troops in the Greek port of Alexandroupolis, but there is no question of deployment, the Hurriyet newspaper reported, citing information from the Ministry of Defense in Ankara.
The interlocutors of the publication assure that the United States is sending units of equipment as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, and added that these are strategic transfer and logistics activities that have been carried out since 2014.
"The activities that took place over the Baltic Sea were recently carried out through Alexandroupolis (Alexandroupolis). These are standard activities that involve rotating the US's own logistics and combat elements to Europe to contribute to European security by training them for a period of time and then returning them, ”the sources explained.
In this context, there is no accumulation of forces, the sources added.
