German manufacturers are very popular among fans of mobile homes. According to a survey of readers of promobil magazine, the most popular brands are the German campers and caravans of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. They also win the most prizes.
Carthago (Aulendorf) is the only manufacturer to have won in two of the eleven categories. Hymer (Bad Waldsee) q Malibu (Aulendorf), Bimobil (Oberframern), Knaus (Jandelsbrunn), Pössl (Einring) and Weinsberg, brand of Knaus Tabbert (Jandelsbrunn), Niesmann + Bischoff (Polch / Rhineland-Palatinate) .
In the compact camper category, Mercedes Marco Polo overtook VW California this year. The participants again chose the long-time winner Fiat Ducato for the most popular base model with a big difference. In the ratings for imported motorhomes, the Slovenian manufacturer Adria dominates with success in seven categories, followed by Sun Living and Kabe, each with a leading position.
South German brands also managed to garner the most points in a Caravaning magazine poll conducted at the same time. The Swabian manufacturer Fendt (Mertingen) shone here with victories in three of the six categories. Eriba from Hymer Group (Bad Walsee) and Weinsberg from Knaus Tabbert (Andelsbrun) were chosen as winners by readers. With Hobby (Fockbeck / Schleswig-Holstein), a brand from the north also won a category. In the import ranking, the manufacturer Adria won four times. The British manufacturer Sprite won two categories for imported models.
