Germany has threatened Russia with measures against Nord Stream 2 in the event of a large-scale aggression against Ukraine

In the event of a large-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, measures may be introduced against the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock made the statement during a joint briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in Kiev, Glavred.

Burbock recalled that the process of certifying the pipeline has been suspended for now.

"Considering this project, we have geopolitical nuances. We support Washington's position that if the escalation of the Russian Federation continues, we will take appropriate measures," said the German Foreign Minister.

The Minister noted that he supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the issue of the sovereignty of an independent state for it "is not a matter for discussion."

"Any new aggression will come at a high price. We are ready to have a serious dialogue with Russia, because diplomacy is the only appropriate way to relieve the tense situation," Burbock said.

At the same time, she added that Germany will not talk about Ukraine without Ukraine and will closely coordinate all its steps with NATO and the Ukrainian state.
