Russia sees that Greece does not want tougher sanctions against Russia, but also what is happening in Alexandroupolis

Moscow sees that Greece does not want to intensify anti-Russian sanctions in the West and that Athens will make a choice that responds to its convictions. This was announced on Friday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference on the results of the activity of Russian diplomacy for 2021, TASS reports.

"I understand that Greece is a member of NATO and the European Union. But we still see that Greece does not want to sing on the way to the imposition of anti-Russian sanctions, Greece in principle does not rejoice at what is happening now between the West and Russia. "We owe it to our Greek friends that with their wisdom they will make a choice, which is in accordance with the technical persuasions," the minister said.

He announced that he would soon announce this to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our southern neighbor Nikos Dendias, including the topic of establishing a new US base in Northern Greece for the transfer of arms to Ukraine. "We are concerned about the new steps that have been taken in the relationship between the US and Greece to improve the status of the Alexandroupolis port for the purposes of the US Navy and how the Americans will use this port," he said.
