Macedonia will not interfere in Bulgaria's policy towards the "Macedonian minority"


 

 The new Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of the Republic of Macedonia, Bojan Maricic, confirmed on Tuesday that Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov's visit to Skopje confirmed that Macedonia will not interfere in Bulgaria's policy towards the so-called "Macedonian minority". the Skopje electronic publication Factor.

It is not the job of Macedonia to say where there is a minority in the region, and this is the case with Bulgaria," Maricic said. a joint press conference with German Minister for Europe Anna Lirmann, who is visiting Skopje.

 The former justice minister said political parties and associations could defend the rights of the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria before the Council of Europe, but it would be counterproductive if the state requested it, as he said, such are the constitutional obligations.

Regarding the joint committee of historical commissions, Maricic said "the efforts so far will be included in the next framework, which will include several groups, commissions and institutions".

"I assume that this commission will continue to exist, but we will see in what form," Maricic said.
