Kiril Petkov is a non-traditional politician with a non-standard vocabulary

We are far from a situation in which we will say that the work is done or even that it has progressed in a positive direction. We must be very careful not to rush, because this is a very sensitive issue of the highest national and state interest. We need a broader public consensus and good thinking on every next step, said President Stevo Pendarovski in an interview with TV 24 on the occasion of the visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, quoted by the Skopje newspaper Sloboden Pechat.

According to him, today's visit of Petkov, the first in his country, was "great and it is good that Petkov also had a meeting with the opposition parties."

"The other side has imposed a range of issues that affect our identity, and we must not allow that to happen. That is why we have to measure three times, once we cut every proposal that comes from anyone, even from the last government in Sofia, "Pendarovski said.

Petkov, Pendarovski said, is a non-traditional politician with a non-standard vocabulary.

"I think he is a non-traditional politician, with a non-standard vocabulary who does not use rhetoric that is recognizable for some past time. In a word or two, I would describe him as a technocrat and an optimist. "When he left, I told him that I knew only one person in politics who was more optimistic than him - Zoran Zaev," Pendarovski said.
