Lavrov and Blinken will meet on January 21 in Geneva


 

 Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke on the phone. According to the Russian newspaper "Kommersant", the diplomats have agreed to meet on January 21 in Geneva.

During the conversation, Blinken reaffirmed the United States' unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stressed the importance of diplomatic cooperation for de-escalation, according to the US State Department's website.

 The Secretary of State stressed the importance of continuing the diplomatic path to overcoming the de-escalation in Ukraine and along its borders. Anthony Blinken stressed that any discussion of security in Europe must be discussed with US allies in NATO and European partners, including Ukraine.
