NATO and Ukraine sign an agreement on cooperation in cyberspace

The North Atlantic Alliance and Ukraine will sign an agreement in the coming days to strengthen cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. This was stated in a statement by the Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg, quoted by TASS.

"In the coming days, NATO and Ukraine will sign an agreement to strengthen cyber cooperation, including Ukraine's access to NATO's malware information exchange platform," a statement from NATO headquarters in Brussels said on Friday.

Stoltenberg also stressed that he "strongly condemns the cyber attack on the Ukrainian government". "NATO has been working closely with Ukraine for years to help strengthen its cyber defense. NATO cyber experts in Brussels are sharing information with their Ukrainian counterparts about an ongoing malicious cyber attack. Allied experts in the country also support the Ukrainian authorities on the ground. NATO's strong political and practical support for Ukraine will continue, "the Secretary General added.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced on Friday that it is investigating a large-scale hacker attack on a number of government websites, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, which took place last night. The Diaa government services website is also temporarily unavailable. The work of most of the affected public resources has already been restored, the remaining sites will become available in the near future. SBU claims that hackers have published provocative messages on the main page of hacked sites, as the content of the sites has not changed and according to preliminary information there has been no leakage of personal data.
