NATO foreign ministers call for dialogue, de-escalation of relations with Russia

NATO foreign ministers called for dialogue, diplomacy and de-escalation in relations with Russia ahead of the January 12th NATO-Russia Council meeting. This was announced on Twitter by the US Permanent Mission to NATO after an extraordinary video conference of the Alliance's foreign ministers on Friday. The Permanent Mission also noted that NATO countries "expressed unity" in the context of accusations against Russia of "aggression against Ukraine", TACC reports.

"On the eve of the forthcoming Russia-NATO Council, ministers stressed the need for diplomacy, dialogue and de-escalation," the US Permanent Mission said.

"All foreign ministers have shown unity in response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine," the US mission said in a statement.
