Osmani announced that a delegation from Skopje will talk about the European future in Paris in January

In the second half of January, after the formation of the government in northern Macedonia, communication will be established with France, as the current presidency of the European Union, regarding the opportunities the country will have during the French presidency to unblock the European integration process, Sloboden pechat edition.

This was stated on Monday at a press conference by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, who, answering a journalist's question whether he had contacted official Paris about further steps for the possibility of starting negotiations. He stressed that this communication already exists, but in the second half of January there will be more specifics.

"With regard to France, I have already established communication and a request to visit and meet with the French top authorities. Initially, it was agreed that the meeting would take place these days, but we still decided that the meeting would take place after the formation of the new government here in our country, ie. in the second half of January, when we will officially establish this communication, which now exists in the meantime, but it is necessary to determine the French plans and positions on their involvement in this process, "said Osmani.

France took over the presidency of the Union on January 1st, and although enlargement is not explicitly mentioned, experts on northern Macedonia and Albania do not rule out progress in the process, especially after the French initiative to resolve the Macedonian-Bulgarian dispute was heard.

France's priorities were presented less than a month ago by President Emmanuel Macron at a press conference in Paris.

"We will not be able to build a Europe of peace in the next 50 years if we leave the Western Balkans as they are today," Macron said on December 9th, adding that he would hold a conference on the region in June.
