Russia responds to Blinken's statement that "Kazakhstan will have a hard time getting rid of Russian troops"

Russia responded angrily on Saturday to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's comment that Kazakhstan may "find it difficult to get rid of Russian troops", saying it should instead consider US military intervention around the world, reports Reuters.

Blinken on Friday challenged Russia's justification for sending forces to Kazakhstan after days of unrest in the Central Asian country.

"One lesson from recent history is that once the Russians are in your house, it is sometimes very difficult to get them to leave," Blinken said.

Russia's foreign ministry called Blinken's remark "typically offensive" and accused him of joking about the tragic events in Kazakhstan. The statement said Washington needed to analyze its own experience of interventions in countries such as Vietnam and Iraq.

"If Anthony Blinken loves history lessons so much, then he must take into account the following: when Americans are in your house, it can be difficult to stay alive and not be robbed or raped," the ministry told its Telegram channel. “

"This is what we are taught not only by the recent past, but by all 300 years of American statehood."

The ministry said the deployment in Kazakhstan was a legitimate response to Kazakhstan's request for support from the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a union of former Soviet republics that includes Russia.

Kazakhstan's intervention comes at a time of high tensions in Moscow's relations with Washington as the two countries prepare for talks on the Ukrainian crisis, which begin on Monday.
