The EU is providing 150m euros in macro-financial assistance to Moldova

 


 The European Union has adopted a new € 150 million macro-financial assistance program for Moldova, of which € 30 million will be in the form of grants and € 120 million in the form of soft loans. This is stated in a statement by the European Commission.

"In response to Moldova's request, the European Commission today approved a new macro-financial assistance program of up to 150m euros, of which 30m euros will be awarded in the form of grants and 120m euros in the form of medium-term soft loans. ", Said in a statement.

 The new macro-financial assistance program will run in parallel with a similar IMF program, with the implementation of "key reforms for Moldova" aimed at bringing local laws in line with EU norms. The program will enter into force after approval by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU.

Since 2017, the European Commission has already allocated 160m euros in macro-financial assistance to Moldova.
