The US State Department has announced NATO's readiness for a meaningful dialogue with Russia

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed upcoming contacts with the Russian Federation in a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Friday. As the State Department's press service noted after the conversation, NATO is ready for a meaningful dialogue with Moscow and at the same time is united on the issue of "restraining aggression against Ukraine," TACC reports.

"Secretary of State Blinken talks with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg about the forthcoming cooperation with the Russian Federation within the Russia-NATO Council and the dialogue on strategic stability between the United States and the Russian Federation. "The Alliance is ready for a meaningful dialogue with Russia and at the same time is united on the issue of limiting further aggression against Ukraine," the statement said.

Negotiations between the Russian Federation and the United States are scheduled for January 10 in Geneva on the security guarantees requested by Russia. In addition, a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council will be held on January 12, and talks between representatives of the Russian Federation and the OSCE will be held on January 13. On December 17, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a draft agreement with the United States on security guarantees and an agreement on security measures for the Russian Federation and NATO member states. They were handed over to Assistant Secretary of State Karen Donfried on December 15.
