A magnitude 6.6 earthquake shook the eastern Mediterranean region, with the strongest impact in Cyprus and Egypt.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute calculated the magnitude of the earthquake at 6.4 on the Richter scale, while the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) registered it with 6.6.
The institute added that the quake was registered 415 kilometers from the province of Damietta.
No injuries or damage have been reported so far.
